At least 3 members of the board shall constitute a quorum for voting purposes. Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings of the Board of Selectmen. Citizens will be provided with the opportunity to address the Selectpersons on topics that are listed on the meeting agenda.

Members
The Board of Selectmen consists of 5 members elected by the voters of the town of Rangeley at the regular annual election held in June. Each term for a Selectperson is 3 years beginning July 1 and ending June 30.

Duties
The Board of Selectmen serve as the governing body of the Town of Rangeley. The Board of Selectmen are the municipal officers of the town and have the authority to set policies, establish ordinances for the town code, set the long term goals and direction for the provision of municipal services, and review and authorize budgetary expenditures and other appropriations deemed necessary for municipal services.
