Recreational Licenses & Registrations

Hunting & Fishing Licenses
Resident fishing or hunting licenses may be purchased at the town office or online.

Proof of completion of a hunter’s safety course must be provided when purchasing an adult license. If a junior license is purchased in the year of the 16th birthday, the person can hunt on that license all year and must carry their hunter safety card with the license.

There is also an over 70 lifetime license for a 1 time fee. Other lifetime licenses can be purchased from inland fisheries.

New License Format
The new license format allows a person to buy the entire permissions at a time on 1 license. This includes hunting, fishing, combinations, supersport, archery, resident serviceman licenses and other permissions such as bear permits, muzzle loading, migratory bird, pheasant, coyote, crossbow and expanded archery etc. in 1 license.

There is also a license called superpack. The superpack license permits a person to hunt and fish for all legal game and fish species subject to all the laws covering these activities. The superpack license includes fishing, hunting, archery, and muzzle loading licenses as well as migratory waterfowl, pheasant, spring/fall turkey, additional spring turkey, bear, coyote night hunt, crossbow, one expanded archery antlerless permit.

Boat, ATV & Snowmobile Registrations
Boat Registrations
Boat registrations expire December 31st. New boats and renewals can be done at the town office. There is a state mandated “Milfoil Sticker” for all boats that are launched in Maine lakes and streams. It is now a part of the yearly sticker issued to all boats registered in Maine. This is to help defray the cost of eradicating milfoil from lakes and streams that may have come into Maine on boats from other states.

If a boat is used in salt water only, a milfoil sticker is not needed. The milfoil fee for non-residents is $20

ATV Registrations
ATV registrations expire June 30th. Renewals can be done at the town office or online.

Snowmobile Registrations
Snowmobile registrations expire June 30th. Renewals can be done at the town office or online.
